Online Marketing in the ASEAN Digital Economy

Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is the fastest growing Internet market in the world.

ASEAN countries include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

With 125,000 new users coming onto the Internet every day, the ASEAN digital economy is projected to grow significantly, adding an estimated $1 trillion to regional GDP over the next ten years (World Economic Forum).

The region’s economy is currently growing at a steady rate of 6% per year, with the impressive growth being mostly fuelled by the rapid penetration of smartphones and smart technology in the region. This trend is known as the ASEAN digital transformation (World Financial Review).

Businesses need strategic marketing and tactical insights for the digital economy to survive and thrive in today’s market.

eFunnely was created to help marketers in Southeast Asia make better strategic marketing decisions.

How the Online Marketing Platform Got Started

Based in Singapore, eFunnely is a product of Grow Digital Pte Ltd, an organization funded by the Enterprise Singapore Start-up Founder Grant.

What started out as an informal project to provide online marketing support and tools in Southeast Asia was selected by Enterprise Singapore to receive funding through the Startup SG Founder programme.

Programme projects are identified and chosen based on the uniqueness of business concept, feasibility of business model, strength of management team, and potential market value.
